Head scarf taxes.

Ahmed told me that one of the most important things a politician has to do is to come clear: he or she has to actually express what his ideas and ideals are, he should call every issue by its name. Denial of any issue is one of the worst things a politician (or anyone for that matter) can do. I couldn't agree more.

Let's ponder on that; what exactly does Wilders mean when he states that Muslim women have to pay taxes for wearing a head scarf? Oh, I know what he means. Imagine the following scenario.

It's 2012. There is a new government with Wilders as Prime-Minister. The taxes on wearing a head scarf have actually been implemented into society. A police officer encounters a Muslim woman on the street, and he notices that she isn't wearing a green star (she has to wear this, to prove that she has paid her head scarf tax for that year, green is the color of Islam). "Excuse me, Madam, where is your green star?". "I'm sorry, Sir", she replies, "I forgot to put it on this morning". "Please, follow me to the nearest police station, Madam", he says in a stern voice.

This is what it looks like............

There we are; this, people, is Wilders's society, consisting of people who are first-, and consisting of people who are second rate citizens. Think about it. This is exactly the way Hitler worked out his demonic scheme to destroy Jews, gays, and gipsies: mark, isolate, deport, destroy. Again, think about it.

.......and this is what it looks like........

Balkenende, our Prime-Minister, or Rouvoet, our Minister for Youth and Family actually are not much better either. What exactly does their ideal society look like? Oh, I know what it looks like! Restoring their so-called "family values" implies that people who cannot live up to those "values" will be second rate citizens. So, if you happen to be gay, or single? Tough, you'll have to pay the price for not being able to meet the "high" standards of Mr. Balkenende and Mr. Rouvoet. Just tough! Think about it. Paying taxes for being unmarried or gay..........

........if you have paid your gay taxes, you must wear your pink triangle.............

I, personally, only believe in politicians who exactly say what they mean, and mean what they say. Baâdoud is definitely not one of those politicians; avoidance of problems, or refusing to address them is not an adequate political agenda, in my opinion.

Ahmed Marcouch is definitely a politician who says what he means and means what he says: he addresses the most difficult issues and taboos, without any reluctance. Homosexuality, women's rights, young people's responsibility towards society, integration, and several other "controversial" topics as well.

I, personally, think that Femke Halsema is another one of those politicians: she isn't afraid to confront other politicians, or to address painful issues. I'm not saying I particularly like her, but I like the politician she is.

- this is a part of the "Fall 2009" blog, which I have highlighted because of the fact that Wilders is one of Holland's most popular policitians; please, be careful what you vote for, you might get it....- Freddy, 21st Feb., 2010
